Learn to recognize, respond to, document, and report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, abandonment, and unsafe treatment of older adults. This course emphasizes immediate safety, dignity, objective reporting, and Pennsylvania’s protective-services pathways.

The Pennsylvania Statewide Elder Abuse Helpline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-800-490-8505. Reports may be made for an adult living at home or in a care setting. If a person faces immediate danger, serious injury, or another emergency, call 911 first and follow required agency and protective-services reporting procedures.

Complete every required lesson and pass the final knowledge check with at least 80% to qualify for the course-specific completion certificate. This training supports caregiver development; it does not replace employer policy, legal advice, or role-specific mandatory-reporter instruction.

How to complete this course and print your certificate

  1. Sign in and enroll using the free enrollment option below.
  2. Open Lesson 1. After reading, select Mark Complete to save your progress and continue. Do the same in Lesson 2.
  3. Read Lesson 3, then select Take Quiz. Answer all 15 questions and earn at least 80% (12 correct). You can review the lessons and retake the quiz if needed.
  4. After all three lessons are complete and you pass the quiz, open Member Login → My Certificates. Choose this course certificate, then use Print or Download.
