End-of-Life & Palliative Support Awareness prepares caregivers to provide calm, respectful, comfort-focused support while staying within the non-medical role and recognizing when changes must be escalated.
What You Will Learn
- Explain palliative and hospice awareness without diagnosing or promising eligibility.
- Provide comfort, dignity, cultural respect, and emotional presence within the care plan.
- Communicate compassionately with participants and authorized family members.
- Recognize urgent changes and follow emergency or supervisor escalation pathways.
- Document observations, actions, notifications, and responses objectively.
This course supports caregiver education. Staff must also follow the participant’s current service plan, Olivia Home Care Services policies, emergency procedures, and applicable program requirements. Course completion does not replace hands-on competency verification or licensed clinical instruction when required.
